Taking in the world

I promised some more images of my new nephew Harley once he’d had a bath and a chance to smarten up. So Sasha, Maisie and Jasper were introduced to their new cousin for the first time yesterday and I got a chance to sneak in a few more shots. As you can see my sister…

To think H was this tiny and it doesn’t seem like 5 minutes ago, and now he’s a cheeky monkey starting year 1 xxx

Fashion, fizz and cupcakes

I was lucky enough to be invited to photograph Holy Name Catholic Primary School’s parents’ association fashion show last Friday.  It was a fabulous evening, brilliantly put together and enjoyed by everyone – except me perhaps!  Being a natural light photographer faced with a very atmospheric but gloomy interior lit by some strings of fairy…

Growing up fast

Oliver, at eight months, is a much bigger boy than Harley (see earlier post).  I did a portrait session with him last week and he charmed me with his beautiful blue eyes and his amazing nearly-walking ability!  I didn’t manage to capture him taking his first steps, though they are surely not far off he’s…

  • Wow, Susie, those are beautiful and like you said, what eyes !!!

  • Love the first one with the reflection – I see what you mean about those eyes!

  • I love these shots Susie. You have really captured Oliver’s personality. His parents must be delighted

  • Loving these Susie. They are so timeless. Oliver certainly is a beautiful baby.

  • Hey Susie, These are really nice! I love the mixture between the ones where hes clearly focusing his attention on you, & the ones looking elsewhere! I think they’re lovely… & I really like how you’ve used the right of the frame! it really makes them a ‘series’ rather than a collection of individual images! nicely done =)

  • Gorgeous little chap – the last one is my favourite – love the light in his eyes

  • Stu Cooper

Great shots Susie, I love the post production. The reflection shot is lovely, and the one looking over his shoulder is beautiful!

  • […] One of my very favourite things is when clients come back to me for more portraits when they’ve added to their family. I photographed Oliver almost exactly two years ago when he was at the age that his baby sister Anna is now. It was fantastic to see how much he’s grown up and what a brilliant big brother he is to Anna. When I first met Oliver he was very advanced in his motor skills and was walking at less than eight months old. This trend is continuing and he’s now two and a half and riding a bike without stabilisers! I wonder what will have happened next time we meet? Tight-rope walking, mono-cycling, juggling… You can see the original post of Oliver’s shoot then here: […]

  • […] wait to photograph him or her too! You can see the earlier shoots with this great family here and here. It was quite a dark, slightly drizzly Autumn day when we took these portraits but with […]

My brand new nephew

Yesterday – Friday the 13th, Red Nose Day, a generally good day to be born – I became a proud aunty again, with the birth of Harley weighing in at 6lb 13oz.  I took these shots when his big sisters and brother met him for the very first time.  I’ll take some proper newborn shots…

  • These shots are beautiful. I love how you manage to capture the intrigue and the amazment that the new addition to a family generates.

A walk in the forest park

This family shoot was one of the most action-packed I’ve done so far. When William, Hollie and Finlay’s dad suggested we use Otley Chevin as our location, I thought it would be a leisurely stroll with great views and nice wooded areas. Well the last bit was right but I spent most of my time…
