Destination wedding at Chateau de Ribaute near Beziers
One of my favourite venues, Chateau de Ribaute, was the backdrop for this stunning summer celebration.
To start, everyone piled into the tiny chapel for a lovely personal French/Australian ceremony performed by both sets of Cally and Raphael’s parents. One of the great things about a wedding where there is no legal bit, is there’s no rules for the ceremony. Anyone can do ‘the formalities’ any way you like. This was such a perfect start to proceedings, with each set of parents making a speech in their own language and the traditional setting lent it an official feel.
The thing I loved most about this wedding – and I loved everything! – was the complete joy of the two families joining together from across the globe. Everyone got up to dance together and it was a pure celebration of love and happiness.
I can’t wait to see some of these wonderful people again at Rachel and Garth’s wedding in April in the Seychelles! Garth is Cally’s brother and this time it will be an Australian/Irish affair. So it should be lively too!
A few weeks after their wedding I did a little family portrait shoot for Cally and Raphael with their gorgeous little girl (who also stole the show on their wedding day as you can see) and I’ll be blogging that soon too.
