I love an outdoor ceremony. In France it’s unusual to have anything but, but in Yorkshire it’s a rare treat. Though I don’t know why really as it doesn’t rain as often as you think and maybe now it’s been made easier for venues to have a licence there will be more ceremonies in the good fresh open air. I do hope so as I’m doing more and more weddings in Yorkshire (never to abandon my French and other destination ones though, don’t worry). Anyway, here’s a brilliant example of how to do it in style in good old blighty. The Sun Pavilion in Harrogate’s gorgeous Valley Gardens has the perfect terrace overlooking the park and Barbara and Andrew chose it as the place to make their wedding vows. These lovely people told me they weren’t very keen on a big fuss, being centre stage or having their photo taken and their wedding was very much all about all their wonderful family and friends as much as them but the truth is that it’s their love for each other that shines through.
