It’s not uncommon for me to photograph a wedding where I don’t understand much of what is being said and this wedding in France was one of those. Nina and Daniel are German but Daniel has French family, so there was a lovely mix of European languages and cultures. The British weren’t at the party at all, apart from me, observing and wishing we could let our hair down with such abandon. Reminds me of something. Exuberance like this is fantastic to photograph and it really makes no difference what language is being spoken, the joy shines through.
Chateau Rieutort is a gorgeous venue, not far from my base in the Herault region of the Languedoc, and Nina and Daniel really made the most of the beautiful grounds, with a festival kind of vibe for their outdoor ceremony and meal beneath the festoon lighting. Magical. And what a party!
