Family portraits – Saltaire

This super family was photographed over two sessions. The first time we visited Saltaire it was a bitterly cold day. We got some lovely shots around Salts Mill, the River Aire, the Leeds and Liverpool Canal and Roberts Park but I didn’t feel quite the same excitement about them as I normally do after a shoot. I think it was the cold, combined with the fact that I couldn’t actually see out of my camera eye at that point (those of you who know me will know the story of why, as well as the fact that modern medicine has pretty much fixed the problem, so I won’t bore you with that) and my gut told me we should do a second set. I’ve never ever done this before and was in a complete quandary about whether I should put my clients to the trouble or indeed spend a lot of time myself doing the work again. Luckily for me these fantastic people were incredibly patient and totally up for a second go. This time it was much warmer and everyone was in a happy mood, especially me as I could see what I was shooting! I’ve included some images from the first shoot here as doing two shoots actually ended up with a great varied selection for them to chose from. Here’s day one to start with…

And now here’s the second shoot. I’m glad we did it. What do you think?…
