I wanted to give something back to the photography industry, which since I’ve started has been the most supportive, friendly and welcoming community I’ve ever come across. Without the encouragement and help of other photographers I couldn’t have even survived my first shoot, never mind make it the modest success it has become. As once upon I time I used to be a journalist (and I use this term a little loosely as if truth be told I was the editor of ‘Professional Roofing Contractor’) I volunteered my services to The Photography Parlour, which is a great website for both seasoned professionals and those taking the first steps as photographers. I’ve started off by interviewing two lovely friends and amazingly talented photographers – Abby Wilkes who does gorgeous family portraits and Lisa Aldersley who is an incredible wedding photographer. I’ve learned a great deal from both of them and really enjoyed sharing cake and gossip as we did our interviews.
