A romantic tale of Yorkshire and Norway

Spring is starting to feel like more than a vain hope this week in Yorkshire. The frosts have given us a break for a few days, the mornings are lighter and there are snowdrops heralding the first sign of floral life. So I’m looking forward to the warmer weather to come with a quick trip back to last summer. The truth is there are a few shoots that I never blogged last year when I got so caught up in the summer weddings there just wasn’t chance. So to make amends and remind  you that Yorkshire can be as summery as the South of France, here are some shots of a Norwegian couple! Bear with me…

Lise and Ivan first met fifteen years ago in Leeds. Lise was working as an au pair and Ivan was a student. One day, outside KFC in Headingley (that well-known international hub) they recognised each other’s Norwegian accents and struck up a conversation, discovering that not only were they both from the same country, but actually from the same town! They now have three children and are happily settled back in Norway. For Ivan’s birthday all these years later Lise booked a surprise return visit to Leeds including a portrait shoot with me to celebrate. And yes, they did also go back to KFC 🙂
