Elizabeth and Ben’s paradise wedding at Logis du Paradis

There was a lot that was very French about this wedding – the gorgeous setting, the food, the weather. But in terms of the people and the way they threw themselves into the spirit of the day there was something a little bit English country garden about it too. I loved these two for their laughter and their willingness to go with whatever I suggested and I loved their wedding and the way it was such a well-planned but relaxed reflection of the two of them. And the place was perfect – the Logis du Paradis is a really lovely venue, not far from Cognac in the Charente. Starting with one of their dreamy portraits, just because I think it’s dreamy…

  • PaulaSo much love and fun! Beautifully documented!

  • Lucy TurnbullSome incredibly lovely moments in here.
I especially love your images of the childrem. Kids at weddings are magic, aren’t they.
You haven’t got the easiest light in the world to work with there but it seems to have posed zero issues for you.
I love that black and white portrait of the bride and groom where you’ve shot through foliage. It works brilliantly.
And I adore the soft focus one of them lying down. That’s just fab

  • Gary (aka Marshal Gray)The photography here is exquisite. Some absolutely beautiful frames, powerful compositions and the choice of black and white over colour is spot on. The timing on the balloon shoot with the little fellow running past the formal set up is brilliance. The detail and texture is beautiful. I also love how you have used backlight in some of the frames. Gorgeous.

  • MarinaI love the softness of your colour photos.
Gorgeous kids’ photos. Specially the baby in black and white looking at the camera, and the one with the girl in the toy horse (amazing light)
The group photo with the kid with the balloon running in front of them is brilliant. Perfect timing.
It really is a lovely collection. 🙂

  • Gaëtan GaumyAh La Charente!! Such a beautiful place for wedding! Some very nice picture here, I love the way you catch the spontaneity specially with the kids, I like the one on the stair and the one with the 3 kids laughing, backlight black and white portrait are very nice those with the wire fence are awesome!

  • Pat KelmanThe immediate thing that came to my mind when looking through this gorgeous set of images was how relaxed, spontaneous and effortless the images seem to be. That sense of relaxation and spontaneity can only be the result of superb skills on your part, Susie. It’s an incredibly charming set, and I felt a massive surge of joy when looking at them. The images are fun, vibrant yet gentle, with beautiful portraits and lovely candid shots – so full of personality! A delight. Beautiful work.

  • Katie de SilvaI think you have created the most beautiful story of images for this couple. The black & white images are my absolute favourite and so rich in tones and contrast. You have truly engaged the couple and relaxed them which reflects perfectly in these photos and adds beauty and brings out the love in their album on their magical day! I would be over the moon if you had created this for my wedding 🙂

  • jonnyGreat storytelling and use of light.. the light is great in France but seeing it in your photos is incredible. I love the portraits too.. a great mix of romanticism and fun. Such a fantastic collection of images Susie, you must be very proud and I bet the couple were blown away x

  • Claudia Rose CarterBeautiful work Susie – especially love the bride and groom portraits in the road and the general light. One of my favourite shots here of yours is quite underexposed early on when she’s sitting down in her dress and the light is coming from a window behind. Anyway, it’s beautiful. Would like to see the images a little bigger perhaps a wider blog format would be something to think about in the future? x

Stunning imagery for the people and places
