The sun was shining, the setting was beautiful beyond words and the bride and groom were totally in love. A dream French wedding at a magical Languedoc chateau. What could possibly go wrong? Five minutes before the ceremony at the fabulous Chateau de Ribaute just outside Beziers was due to begin, the celebrant called to say she had gone to the wrong venue and it was an hour and a half away. That’s what ‘went wrong’. And the result? A completely and utterly amazing day, filled with joy, love and laughter. The missing celebrant mattered not one iota. A wonderful friend in the form of Phil stepped up to the mark and read the ceremony off an iPad. It was a day that reminded me that what is important is not what happens or doesn’t happen but how you respond to it. Laura and Will have the most positive and happy attitude and I could completely see why they were marrying each other. They had put a lot of thought and effort into all the details of the day (those flowers!) and many people including myself might have freaked at least a little bit about something so fundamental apparently not going to plan. No freaking occurred. I love these images as this was an extra special wedding for me. Beziers is my local city in France and this was the first time I’d been to this stunning venue so that was brilliant. But more than that, it was special because of it being perfect in its imperfections…
Gary (aka Marshal Gray)Glorious. These compositions are to die for. What an profound story also. It often when a spanner is thrown in the works that everyone comes together to make things happen. Beautiful work Susie.
Simon DeweyWhat a great collection of photos Susie
AnnaSusie – what a gorgeous wedding – superb work. I have no doubt you were a calming influence when it could have all fallen apart. My favourite is the one of the bride going down the spiral staircase. Stunning. xx
