Civil wedding – Leeds Town Hall – Rachael & Mark

Rachael and Mark are getting married in France next week, at Chateau de Blavou in Normandy to be exact. And I’m the lucky one who gets to photograph it too. It’s going to be fabulous so look out for the photographs coming soon. But as anyone who has been married in France or who intends to will know, it doesn’t actually stand legally unless you are technically married here first (unless of course you are French in which case you will obviously need a French civil ceremony!). A lot of people chose not to make anything of it at all but Rachael and Mark invited a handful of their closest family including those who couldn’t make it to France, to attend the lovely civil ceremony they had at Leeds Town Hall. We treated it as a kind of wedding shoot/pre-wedding shoot all rolled into one! So we grabbed a few shots on the steps of the Town Hall, had a cheeky encounter with a Henry Moore statue and finished up in the beautiful Tiled Hall Cafe at Leeds Art Gallery. Having had such a great time photographing this element of their wedding, I’m so excited about the big party they’re having at the amazing chateau in France. Imagine these two lovely people and their families and friends in a spectacular setting, with lots of gorgeous details and maybe even a hint of sunshine thrown in. Heaven.
